General Questions
ISAL is located in Boston, Massachussetts, in the town of Brookline. Right next to the Brookline Village stop on Green Line D and bus lines 65 and 66.

There is metered parking, paid parking lots and street parking on the side streets around ISAL.

You can study 5 days in the morning or 4 days in the evening. We do not have weekend classes.
Morning classes are Monday to Friday from 9:30 to 1:30.
Evening classes Monday to Thursday from 5:00 to 9:30.
In the morning: 9:30 to 11:00 AND 11:15 to 1:30
In the evening: 5:00 to 6:50 AND 7:00 to 9:30
Yes. Part-time study means that you choose 1 class.

No. You are required to study at least 18 hours per week in order to maintain your F1 student status.
The Intensive English program has 7 levels (A1 -C2) and the Business English program has 3 levels (B2 – C2)
If you study full-time, all classes are $800 for 4 weeks.
If you study part-time, all classes are $400 for 4 weeks.

We also accept students from 17 years old if they have completed high school.
Our program is designed to be completed in approximately 2 years if you start with Level 1. The duration of study usually depends on your starting level and your goals.
If you are in the United States on a student visa, you can study for up to 36 months at ISAL.
Each level is 3 months.
You will take a two part placement test before starting classes. The first part is computer based test, the second part is a speaking test with the Academic Director.
No, you cannot work if you are studying at language school on a F1 visa.
How to apply - F1 students

You need to upload a copy of your passport and bank statement (no older than 30 days).
If you are bringing dependants, you need to upload their passports, marriage certificate, , and birth certificate if applicable.
The application fee is $200.
We will send you a copy of your documents within 1-3 business days, after receiving all the required documents.
Once you receive your I-20 you need to pay the SEVIS fee. You can pay it here: https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/index.html
Once you pay receive your I-20 and acceptance letter, and pay the SEVIS fee, you need to schedule a student visa interview at a US Consulate near you.

You need to upload a copy of your passport or drivers license or ID.
The application fee is $75.
We will contact you to schedule the placement test. If you do not hear from us within 24 hours of applying, please send us an email to info@isalusa.com
How to apply - Chage of status students

You need to upload a copy of your passport, visa, I-94 and bank statement (no older than 30 days).
If you are bringing dependants, you need to upload their passport, visa, I-94, marriage certificate, and birth certificate if applicable.
You need to pay the application fee ($200), the change of status fee ($250) and the tuition deposit ($800).
We will send you a copy of your documents within 1-3 business days, after receiving all the required documents and fees.
Once you receive your I-20 and acceptance letter, you need to submit your change of status application to USCIS.
